    How to make feijoa with honey? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. To make the jam tasty and aromatic, choose large fruits that are not damaged, not hard and aromatic. It is best to take floral honey; it has a subtle aroma that will perfectly complement the smell of feijoa berries. But do not forget that honey, like any beekeeping product, can cause a severe allergic reaction. Therefore, keep this in mind when using it yourself or offering it to others.

    Sort the feijoa berries, removing damaged ones, and wash. Then put the berries in a colander and pour boiling water over them, since the berries will be used unpeeled, along with the peel. Place the feijoas on a paper towel and let dry completely. Excess moisture in the jam is not needed, and it can cause mold.

    Cut off the tails of dry berries and cut into pieces. Mine is not very large, so I cut it in half.

    Place the prepared berries in a blender bowl.

    Punch everything to the desired state. It can be a homogeneous, smooth mass. Personally, I love when there are small pieces in this jam. Also, instead of a blender, you can pass the feijoa through a meat grinder with a fine grid several times, until the desired consistency.

    Add honey to chopped feijoa. The honey should be liquid so it mixes better and faster. If you have honey that has thickened, place it in a water bath and, stirring, bring it to a liquid state. But, under no circumstances heat it over an open fire or in the microwave. After all, at temperatures above 40 degrees it loses its beneficial properties. And at temperatures above 60 degrees, it begins to release a toxic substance - hydroxymethylfurfural.

    Blend everything a little more with the blender so that the honey is mixed with the berry mass. Often, lemon is added to prevent the finished product from darkening, but in my opinion it overpowers the delicate aroma of the berry itself.

    Wash the jars thoroughly with baking soda in hot water and sterilize in any convenient way. I use a microwave oven for this purpose. Pour water into clean jars to a height of 2-3 centimeters. Turn on the stove for 4 minutes at full power. Then remove, drain and let them dry.

    Then put feijoa and honey into them, cover with boiled lids and put in the refrigerator. It can be stored for several months. This quantity makes approximately 2 jars of 250 grams and one jar of 150 grams.

Every fall I make a couple of jars of live feijoa jam. This time I saw a recipe for feijoa with honey on the website and decided to try it. The fruits I chose were whole, not spoiled, and of a uniform green color. Washed, dried and cut into pieces. In its pure form I got 600 g. I crushed it in a blender. I used a meat grinder before, but I liked the blender better. I took liquid flower honey. After beating again, the mass became lighter. In general, I advise you to do everything quickly; the inside of the feijoa may darken from contact with air. I sterilized the jars in the microwave in advance, it’s very convenient. I doused the lids with boiling water and dried them. I got 700 ml. jam. Very fragrant, tender, tasty! The benefits are literally in every spoon!
