Dough for kefir pies in a frying pan

A great alternative to regular yeast dough! A quick yeast-free dough made with kefir for pan-fried pies is in no way inferior in quality to regular yeast dough; the pies are soft and delicate in taste, while requiring a minimum of time to prepare the dough.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make dough for kefir pies in a frying pan? Prepare the ingredients according to the list. Since kefir dough is prepared very quickly, by the time it is kneaded, the filling for the pies should already be ready. Pour kefir at room temperature into a deep bowl; the fat content of kefir can be used at your discretion; the fattier the kefir, the richer the pies will be.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Add a pinch of baking soda, stir and leave for 5 minutes to allow an alkaline reaction to occur. Bubbles will appear on the surface of the mixture.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Then add salt, sugar to the bowl with kefir (the amount of these ingredients can be changed depending on what the filling will be: sweet or not), beat in the chicken egg, you can first shake it in a separate bowl of the egg mixture so that the whites are completely dispersed. Using a whisk or mixer, mix the ingredients until a liquid mixture has a homogeneous consistency.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Sift the wheat flour, it is better to do this twice. Firstly, to completely prevent foreign impurities that may be in the flour package from getting into the dough. Secondly, to saturate the flour with oxygen, which will make the dough softer and airier. Add flour in small portions to the bowl with the liquid mixture.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Mix the flour with the liquid with a whisk or spoon and gradually add flour until the dough begins to form a lump. Then pour two tablespoons of vegetable oil into the bowl of the dough and continue kneading the dough with your hands. To make the dough more convenient to knead, kneading can be continued on a clean work surface sprinkled with flour.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Knead the dough until it becomes elastic, smooth and no longer sticks to your hands. Then put the dough back into the bowl, cover the top with cling film and leave to rest on the counter for 20 minutes. The dough is ready, you can proceed to shaping and frying the pies. Fried pies made from this dough will turn out very tasty, with a crispy golden brown crust on the outside and a soft, tender crumb under the crust. Bon appetit!

A good option for yeast-free dough. You can use milk instead of kefir.

Today I prepared dough for kefir pies in a frying pan. The recipe is simple, even a beginner can handle it. I kneaded the dough and liked the fact that immediately after kneading you can start baking. The dough is easy to work with, it turned out soft and pliable. The finished pies turned out soft and tasty. Good recipe, I recommend it!

Good day. I really don’t like fiddling with dough, but I love homemade pies. I tried many recipes, but alas... Today I took the risk of preparing the dough according to this recipe. I am delighted!!!! The dough is tender, fluffy, the pies are a fairy tale! Now this is the only way I will cook. Thanks a lot!!!
