Cranberry sauce for meat

Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to make cranberry sauce for meat? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Cranberries can be used not only fresh, but also frozen, collected in advance yourself or purchased in a store. The main thing is that it must be ripe. If the sauce is not ripe, it will turn out bitter. But the berries should not be overripe either.
STEP 2

Wash the cranberries well, remove any wrinkled or spoiled berries. Place the cranberries in a colander or paper towel to drain the water and dry the berries. There is no need to defrost frozen cranberries.
STEP 3

Place the cranberries in a saucepan or saucepan. Do not use aluminum utensils for cooking the sauce; they may oxidize from the berry juice. Pour in half a glass of cold clean water and add sugar. Place the pan over medium heat.
STEP 4

Dissolve potato starch in the remaining water. The sauce can be prepared without adding starch, but then the cranberries will have to be boiled longer to thicken the sauce, but in this case all the beneficial substances contained in the cranberries will be lost. If desired, you can adjust the degree of thickness of the sauce, this can be done by adding a little more starch or longer boiling it over the fire.
STEP 5

When the mixture boils and the berries begin to burst, pour in the starch solution in a thin stream, while stirring the sauce with a spoon. Simmer the sauce over low heat for about 3 minutes. During this time it will boil down and thicken. Then turn off the heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Using a blender or wooden masher, grind the mixture until smooth. Let the sauce cool at room temperature, then put it in the refrigerator for half an hour.
STEP 6

The sauce for the meat is ready. Bon appetit!
