Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

Prepare the indicated ingredients. You can use any frozen berries: strawberries, blackberries, lingonberries, blueberries, etc. using currants: red or black, white, citric acid or lemon juice in the compote is not recommended, since these berries have a pronounced sour taste. You can use a little less sugar than specified in the recipe, or a little more - go according to your taste.
STEP 2

Place frozen berries in a saucepan or bowl.
STEP 3

Pour cold water and remove stems, twigs, tails, for example from strawberries. Rinse several times.
STEP 4

After this, add granulated sugar to the container, you can pair it with vanilla sugar if you like to smell the aroma of vanilla in your drinks.
STEP 5

Pour in hot water and place the container on the stove, cover with a lid and turn on maximum heat. Bring the liquid in the container to a boil, reduce the heat to medium, and cover half of the container with a lid.
STEP 6

Cook the compote for 10-12 minutes from the moment it boils. All berries should give off their color and aroma to the liquid and float to the top.
STEP 7

Turn off the heat and leave the drink to cool for 15-20 minutes without covering the container with a lid. During this time, the berries should sink to the bottom.
STEP 8

Pour frozen berry compote into glasses, jug, cups, etc. Serve. The drink is delicious both warm in winter and with ice in summer.
