Compote of fresh berries and fruits

Taste of childhood! A simple recipe for a wonderful homemade compote! Do you want to surprise your guests or please your family? Of course, fresh berry compote, the recipe for which I want to offer you today, can hardly even be called food. Even using exotic products. I just want to try to revive the old dish - uzvar, adding a “zest” to it. That is, something that will make it sound and look new. I think everyone will love this original recipe that anyone can cook.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Attention, we do not throw away the peelings of apples and pears, as well as cherry pits!

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour boiling water over it all and cook for 10-15 minutes. The broth turns out to be a nice color! Strain it through a colander, add sugar and boil the syrup, skimming off the foam regularly. Then put apples and pears, prepared in advance (cut into pieces), into this syrup and bring to a boil. Cook until almost done!

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

At the very end of cooking, add apricots or plums, which boil quickly, and bring the compote to a boil again.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Pour cherries and sugar into the already hot broth and let it dissolve. If our compote turns out to be somewhat sweet, add citric acid to it.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Let it boil for a few minutes

It turns out a delicious sweet compote. A great drink in the summer heat!

For a festive table, such a berry compote is very useful. Is it possible to prepare a compote with berries using this recipe, but without apples and pears?

I'm glad that you liked the recipe for fresh berry compote. Of course, you can do it without pears, or vice versa, without apples, or without pears and apples.... Well, you can do it without fresh berries too.

Compotes are delicious and healthy soft drinks that are very easy to brew. I really liked the recipe, I will definitely try it. I also love compote with melon. Here's the recipe: Prepare a syrup from sugar and water, place pitted plum slices, cored apple and pear slices into it, cook over low heat for about 10-15 minutes, then cool.

Despite the huge number of juices on sale, compotes are always received with a bang in any company. A couple of tips from grandma: if the company is large, then it’s difficult to brew 10 liters of compote! add more sugar - you can dilute the finished compote with boiled water. If you like sourness, add lemon slices - the amount depends on your taste.

don’t be afraid to add everything to the compote: berries and fruits - everything will do! just let these products be fresh and unspoiled. One of my friends bought “rotten stuff” at the market for compotes and jam at half the price, commenting: “there will still be heat treatment.” I then came across an article that such rotten mushrooms release even more poison when heat treated.

What I love about summer is the huge selection of different fruits and berries. You can simply eat them with pleasure, or you can prepare a wide variety of drinks: fruit drinks, jelly, smoothies, compotes, etc. Most often I cook compotes from various fruits and berries for my family, as we simply adore them. This time I cooked compote according to this recipe. True, instead of a pear I put a peach, since pears are not in season yet. I didn’t add citric acid, the compote turned out moderately sweet. Also, the author did not indicate how much water to pour for a given amount of ingredients for the compote; I took 3 liters. Thank you for the recipe, I will definitely make this healthy, vitamin-rich drink for my family again.
