    Sort the grains and, if necessary, remove any remaining husks and foreign particles. Rinse well in cool running water.

    Pour boiling water over the cereal in a 1:2 ratio. Leave for at least 5 hours, I left it overnight.

    In the morning, the cereal will swell well and absorb half the water.

    Transfer the cereal to the bowl in which it will be cooked and add water so that the cereal again has half the amount of water. Add salt and stir.

    Set to simmer over medium heat. After boiling, reduce the heat to low and cook the porridge for 30-45 minutes until the liquid evaporates. Barley porridge in water turned out crumbly and aromatic. I took crushed cereal - a cell. I washed it in several waters and soaked it for one hour in warm water (although the author does not recommend it, I decided to play it safe). Cooked over medium heat for 30 minutes, then, according to the author’s advice, wrapped the pan in a towel and left for 2 hours. Very tasty as a snack and with homemade cow's milk. The porridge just crumbles in your mouth, and the milk adds a creamy taste. Perfect for breakfast!
