  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make fruit drink from viburnum? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. Viburnum berries can be used both fresh and frozen. The berries themselves are bitter, but after freezing the bitterness decreases. Bitterness is a feature of viburnum juice. And not everyone likes it. Rinse the berries in cold water.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Separate the viburnum berries from the branches and place them in a chopper. It is convenient to cut the berries with small scissors. Chop the berries. You can use a meat grinder for this or just mash them thoroughly with a fork.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Rub the crushed berries through a sieve.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place the remaining pulp into a ladle, add water and bring to a boil. There is no need to boil, otherwise the drink will change color.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

    Strain the resulting broth.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add pre-strained juice to the drink. Add sugar to taste. By the way, sugar can be replaced with honey. The taste of the fruit drink itself will change slightly with honey.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Pour the finished fruit drink into a carafe and enjoy. You can also dilute the fruit drink with water to make it less concentrated. Bon appetit!

The viburnum has ripened at the dacha. Not much, but still a harvest. I decided to make a fruit drink from it. I didn’t put the berries through a sieve, I just mashed them in a saucepan. Then she poured water over them, poured sugar into them and brought to a boil. I didn’t strain the fruit drink, I just poured it carefully into a glass so that the berries didn’t get in. The viburnum juice turned out to be very sweet, viscous, and had a liqueur-like consistency. Viburnum bitterness is also clearly felt. The drink, of course, is not for everyone. My son really loves viburnum, so he happily drank several glasses. My daughter immediately refused to drink and said it was very bitter. For me, viburnum juice is more of a healing drink than a drink for pleasure. Thank you very much for the recipe!
