Universal cheese batter
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
Prepare all the necessary products. I recommend using home-made mayonnaise. This way you will know exactly what this mayonnaise is made from. Store-bought mayonnaise contains many harmful additives; in addition, it is extremely undesirable to heat-treat it. Take large eggs, preferably homemade ones, or in extreme cases CO2. Homemade eggs typically have a bright orange yolk, which will give the finished dish a beautiful golden color.
STEP 2
Wash the egg well - this must be done, because... Egg shells contain a lot of bacteria and dirt. Beat the egg into a bowl.
STEP 3
Add some salt. If you wish, you can add some of your favorite dried herbs or seasonings to the batter at this stage. Ground chili will add spiciness, dried garlic will add a unique aroma, and thyme and rosemary will add a spicy note.
STEP 4
Stir the egg with a fork.
STEP 5
Add mayonnaise. In principle, those who wish can replace it with sour cream.
STEP 6
At this stage it is very important to stir the mass well, because... mayonnaise tends to form lumps, so mix very thoroughly until smooth.
STEP 7
Grate the cheese and add to the batter. If you wish, you can take any type of cheese: all types of hard and semi-hard cheeses are suitable, as well as mozzarella and even blue cheese. Stir again until smooth. If desired, you can add chopped fresh herbs to the batter: dill, parsley, cilantro, green onions, etc.
STEP 8
Dip small pieces of fish or meat or vegetables into the batter so that it sticks tightly to the surface on all sides.
STEP 9
Place the battered pieces into well-heated oil.
STEP 10
And fry until crispy.
STEP 11
The batter is very easy to prepare, and fish, vegetables, and meat cooked in this batter turn out very crispy and have a pleasant golden color. Bon appetit!
