  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make strawberries in sugar for the winter without cooking? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. Choose strawberries that are ripe, juicy, strong and without damage. Choose them in medium or small sizes. If the berries are sour, then the amount of sugar must be increased. For every kilogram, add another 200 grams of sugar. Sugar is a preservative that allows you to preserve berries for a long time. Read about winter preparations in the article at the end of the recipe.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

The first step is to wash the berries. Pour water into a deep bowl and add the berries. Gently mix the berries with your hands. The sand from the berries will sink to the bottom of the bowl.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Then use your hands to catch the berries from the water and place them in a colander. Leave to stand so that all excess water drips off.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Remove stems and leaves from strawberries. Pour a little sugar into the bottom of the bowl and lay out the berries, sprinkling them with sugar. Set aside a little sugar (about 150 grams). We'll need it a little later. Leave the berries to stand for several hours so that they release their juice. Stir them a little so that the sugar dissolves in the syrup.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

The berries will float in the syrup. There will be a lot of juice. Gradually the sugar will dissolve.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Prepare the jars. Wash them and sterilize them in any convenient way. This can be done in the microwave, in the oven or over hot steam. Cool hot jars. Let them dry completely. Place the berries in prepared jars and fill with syrup. But not to the top. Leave some space.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Sprinkle 2-3 tablespoons of sugar on top of the berries from the sugar that was left separately. Thanks to this, whole strawberries in syrup will be stored for a long time.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Boil metal lids and cover jars with whole strawberries. Place the jars in the refrigerator for storage. A piece of summer for a long winter! Enjoy your meal!
