Raisin compote

Delicious, appetizing, healthy, for the whole family! Raisin compote is one of the simplest recipes for making a drink from dried fruits. Dried grapes contain natural sugar, so the compote can be cooked without sugar at all or with a minimal amount of it.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook raisin compote? Prepare your food. Any variety of raisins is suitable for this compote - dark, light, with or without pits. Rinse it in running water and then pour boiling water over it. It is more convenient to do this in a sieve or colander. Then place the raisins in a small saucepan in which the compote will be cooked.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Cover the raisins with sugar. The amount of sugar is arbitrary, so go according to your taste. You can not use it at all, but then add honey to the finished compote.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour water into a saucepan and place on fire.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Bring the compote to a boil and simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes. Then remove from heat, cover the pan with a lid and let the compote brew for an hour.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Strain the infused compote through a sieve, separating the raisins, and pour into a decanter. You can serve it immediately, warm, or you can cool it before serving.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour the finished compote into glasses and help yourself. Bon appetit!

I saved the recipe for this compote back in the summer; I still wanted to taste it. I just prepared it now, in winter. Well, in general, everything is logical, in winter there are no fresh fruits and berries) It was difficult for me to imagine what the end result would be, so I cooked half the portion. My raisins are ordinary dark ones, not medicinal. I washed it well and filled it with water. Cooked it as written in the recipe. True, my compote was infused for about half an hour, I was busy. I didn’t add sugar right away, I decided to try it first. And after trying it, I realized that I didn’t need either sugar or honey, the compote turned out to be moderately sweet. Just perfect! And it tastes simply amazing. It seems like just raisins, I don’t really like them, but the compote turned out great. It is slightly sweet, the taste of raisins is not bright, but gentle and unobtrusive. To be honest, half a liter of compote was not even enough for me) Now I know this taste and will make raisin compote again. Thank you!
