Pies made from ready-made yeast dough with rice

Do you want some pies, but are too lazy to bother with the dough? This recipe is for you! These pies came in very handy - there was boiled chicken and cooked rice in the refrigerator, and a package of yeast dough in the freezer. A little effort - and delicious yeast pies are ready! I usually bake pies from ready-made yeast dough in the oven, but this time I decided to fry them in a frying pan. It turned out very tasty and inexpensive!

Step-by-step preparation

Cooking timeCooking time: 30 mins
  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Necessary ingredients: rice and chicken, I repeat, were boiled in advance, and the dough was defrosted at room temperature

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

I boiled the rice in advance in salted water (the ratio of rice to water is 1:3 cups)

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

I then rinsed the rice in cold water to keep it fluffy.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

I finely chopped the onion and also fried it in preheated vegetable oil until golden brown.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Grind the boiled chicken in any convenient way

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

I did this using a blender

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Add shredded chicken, fried onions, chopped herbs to the rice - I used parsley today, but you can use any other

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Salt, pepper and mix well. The filling is ready!

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

I bought ready-made yeast dough in the form of ready-made balls - it’s very convenient to work with, you just need to divide it into 2 parts

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Mash both parts into a flat cake

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Or just roll it out thinly with a rolling pin

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Place the filling on top. It must be said that a lot of such filling fits into one pie, and due to the fact that the dough is from the refrigerator, it is much easier to work with

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Seal the edges and place each pie seam side down.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

I got 12 large pies - one such pie is enough to feed an adult) They turn out great if you bake them in the oven - you just need to transfer them to a baking sheet, let them rise for 15-20 minutes and bake at 180 degrees until golden brown. But today I wanted to fry them in a frying pan for my husband.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Fry in hot vegetable oil until golden brown

  16. STEP 16

    STEP 16

Turn over and fry on the other side

  17. STEP 17

    STEP 17

We got such beautiful ruddy pies

  18. STEP 18

    STEP 18

    Bon appetit!

I had homemade yeast dough. I wanted to make pies with savory filling from it. As a basis, I took a recipe for pies made from ready-made yeast dough with rice. I didn’t have boiled chicken, so I replaced it with meat from smoked pork ribs, grinding it in a blender. I took all the other ingredients according to the list. I have never cooked pies with rice before. But it turned out very tasty and satisfying. It turned out that rice makes an excellent filling, and with the meat component it turns out even more appetizing! Thank you very much for the recipe!

I really love pies with rice. And then there’s chicken in the filling, just delicious. I’ll definitely try to make pies according to your recipe, but I’ll probably add some champignons to the filling
