  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook millet porridge in the oven in a pot? Prepare your food. Pre-sort the millet, sifting out debris and red unopened grains. Milk of any fat content is suitable, but with homemade, natural milk, the porridge will turn out tastier. Adjust the amount of milk according to your taste. For a thinner porridge, add more. You don't have to use vanillin, add it to taste.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the millet several times under the tap until the water becomes clear.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Prepare a clay pot. Pour cold water into it and soak it for several hours. Then drain the water. Then, when baking, the pot will better reveal the taste of the food. Pour the millet into the pot so that it is one third full.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Pour 2/3 of the total amount of milk into the pot.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the pot in the oven, turn it on 180 degrees. Cook the porridge for about 40 minutes. The milk should be completely absorbed into the cereal, but under no circumstances should it burn, watch this.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

When all the milk has been absorbed, remove the pot of porridge from the oven, add butter, sugar, salt, vanilla if desired, and pour in the remaining milk. Return the porridge to the oven for 10-15 minutes.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

The porridge is ready, but I advise you to cover the pot with a lid and leave it in the turned off oven. Due to the remaining heat of the oven, the porridge will cook even more. Serve the finished porridge on plates. Bon appetit!

I already once cooked rice porridge in pots. Then the whole family really liked her. I decided to cook milk porridge in pots again for breakfast, only this time I chose a recipe for millet porridge with milk in the oven in a pot. I prepared the porridge for five servings. On the author's advice, I filled the pots with cold water. True, not for a few hours. I only had half an hour at my disposal. I washed the millet and placed two tablespoons in each pot. I decided to make millet porridge not with milk alone, but first simmer it in water. I poured 100 ml of water into each pot. I put the pots in a cold oven and turned it on to 180 degrees. The porridge took about 35 minutes to cook. Then I poured 50 ml of milk into each pot (pre-heated in the microwave until hot), added a teaspoon of sugar, a pinch of salt and cooked the porridge for another 15 minutes. I didn’t add butter or vanilla. The porridge turned out wonderful, it cooked perfectly, became very soft and tender. This porridge makes a hearty and nutritious breakfast. Thank you very much for the recipe!
