For the cake I needed fondant. I once made mastic from marshmallows, but I didn’t know that you could make mastic from gelatin and powdered sugar. I decided to cook it using this recipe. I made it for seven servings. I had three small jars of honey, 35 grams each: forest, flower and meadow. I made the powdered sugar myself in a coffee grinder. Before using, I sifted it several times. I used regular powdered gelatin. It turned out that making such mastic is not at all difficult. Heated the honey in a water bath with gelatin. Gelatin honey is very similar in consistency to slime. Then I poured it into the powdered sugar and stirred. The mastic did not absorb all the powder, there was a little left (I think about 50 grams). The weight of the mastic was 515 grams. The mastic is very easy to work with, it is elastic and rolls out well. After the mastic had been in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, it naturally became quite dense and hard. I microwaved it for 15 seconds at 1000 watts and it became pliable and soft again. I made roses out of it. They kept their shape well. The taste of the mastic has a slight taste of honey. I didn’t have white dye, so I colored the mastic directly with colored dyes. Thank you very much for the recipe!

Tell me, what is it like when it dries, is it very hard? I just heard that if you make figures from gelatin mastic, then you won’t be able to figure them out...
