homemade tomato juice ketchup
Rich tomato sauce in just 15 minutes!!! The sauce is very tasty, sweet and spicy (I got it spicy because of the cayenne pepper). Since everyone's tastes are different, if the sauce seems too sweet for your taste, then add a little more tomato juice and simmer until thick.

Step-by-step preparation
Cooking time: 15 mins
STEP 1
Required ingredients. If you wish, you can add dried herbs to your taste. I added basil and oregano, a pinch of cayenne pepper and a pinch of cinnamon, but adding all this is not necessary; salt and pepper will also be quite enough.
STEP 2
Pour sugar into a frying pan and place over medium heat.
STEP 3
When the sugar melts 2/3, pour in the tomato juice.
STEP 4
Some of the sugar will harden, but it will then melt when heated. Add salt, pepper and spices to taste.
STEP 5
Cook until thickened for 5-7 minutes.
STEP 6
Our sauce is ready. Serve with meat, fish or just fried potatoes. Bon appetit!

I made homemade ketchup from tomato juice for the baked chicken. I usually make ketchup from tomatoes, but this time I didn’t have any. But there was tomato juice, although not very thick, so I added a little tomato paste to it. I think it’s better to take the juice without adding salt and sugar in order to adjust the taste yourself. I poured sugar into the bottom of a non-stick frying pan. At first nothing happened, and then the sugar began to melt quickly. I poured the juice into the caramel, salt and pepper. During cooking, the stuck sugar dissolved. Boil the sauce until slightly thick. It turned out rich in color and very fragrant! The sauce is easy to prepare, but it turned out very tasty!

And what a bright and rich color, as if from fresh tomatoes, with caramelization of sugar, you came up with a great idea, lately people have started paying attention to this. Tomato juice is of course good, but I have a lot of tomatoes with their own juice, so that’s what I’ll use for the base. Irisha, a very necessary recipe, both for everyday food and for holidays!

Irish, is the sauce stored, or should it be consumed immediately?

Thanks everyone!!! Glad you liked the sauce! Natasha, I haven’t tried storing it for a long time; I only had it for a day or two at most. It is very easy and quick to prepare, so I didn’t even try to cook it for future use. This sauce tastes very much like ketchup, you can look at the recipe https://bestrecipes24.com/cooking/1539-domashnii-ketchup, it can be stored for a long time, but there is a lot more fuss with it
