Homemade lemon vodka

STEP 1
How to make homemade lemon vodka? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. Take good quality vodka. You can change the amount of sugar slightly to suit your taste. And in general, all proportions are approximate and you can adjust them at your discretion. Choose medium-sized lemons with smooth skin. Lumpy lemons will have very thick skins, so there will be less juice.
STEP 2
Wash the lemons thoroughly with a brush in warm water and soap to remove all dirt and wax that is used to coat them before selling. Pour boiling water over lemons. Remove the zest from the lemons, being careful not to touch the white part. The white part will add bitterness. And squeeze the juice from the lemons themselves.
STEP 3
Pour sugar into a jar and add lemon zest. Pour lemon juice over everything. Stir until the sugar begins to dissolve.
STEP 4
Fill the contents of the jar with vodka, close the lid and mix everything again. Store the jar at room temperature for 3-5 days. The warmer the room, the faster the drink will infuse. During infusion, the jar must be shaken several times so that the sugar has time to completely dissolve.
STEP 5
Strain the finished drink through several layers of gauze and pour into a decanter or a clean bottle. Before drinking, I recommend cooling the lemon vodka in the refrigerator for several hours.
STEP 6
A great drink for the holiday table! You can add some ice when serving.
