Homemade frozen lingonberries

Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to freeze lingonberries? First you need to pick the berries. Lingonberries can be picked not quite ripe, with a white side. It, like cranberries, can ripen if you put it in a dark place. But don’t hold it to account, it may dry out and wrinkle, although this does not affect the taste. It is best to collect it in dry weather, away from roads and busy routes. Then the berries will not have to be washed, which is not recommended before freezing.
STEP 2

Sort the berries carefully.
STEP 3

To freeze, take any baking tray that is large enough to fit into the freezer. Cover a baking sheet with film and scatter the berries in a thin layer. It will not stick together and this will allow you to easily pour it later. Place in the freezer for 10-12 hours until completely frozen.
STEP 4

I can offer two options for storing frozen lingonberries. The first is to pour frozen berries in ziplock bags. Close the bag almost and try to squeeze out the air, close it completely.
STEP 5

The second and best, in my opinion, is the vacuum. For this purpose, I specifically purchased an inexpensive device. This does not take much time, berries, fruits and vegetables do not absorb foreign odors and take up much less space. This is perhaps the most compelling argument for those who have a small freezer. The only negative is the special packages, but they can be used several times.
STEP 6

Be sure to sign the packages, it is very convenient. I would recommend berries in small bags, for 1-2 times, so that they can be used immediately, and they will not be scattered all over the refrigerator.
STEP 7

These lingonberries can be used either frozen or after defrosting, depending on the recipe.
