Homemade cranberry tincture with vodka

STEP 1

How to make homemade cranberry tincture with vodka? Prepare the necessary products. Freeze fresh cranberries in advance. Freezing loosens the structure of the fruit, so the juice will separate much better. That is why the berries should be frozen before preparing any infusions. It is better to keep cranberries in the freezer for more than 24 hours - this will make them less bitter.
STEP 2

Sort the berries and, without defrosting, rinse with cool water in a colander. Let the water drain well from the berries.
STEP 3

Now you need to crush the cranberries a little, but not too much, so that the berries remain intact. The disadvantage of crushing the berries is that the finished tincture is very cloudy and requires several stages of filtration. This will make the drink more transparent. You can crush it right away in a jar, but I find it more convenient in a wide container, at the same time I check the quality of the berries again.
STEP 4

It is convenient to make the tincture in a liter jar. Pour vodka into the crushed cranberries. Close the jar with a lid and place it in a dark, warm place for 3 weeks. The jar needs to be shaken once every 2-3 days. This sugar-free cranberry liqueur has a sour taste. At this point you can finish cooking.
STEP 5

If the sourness in taste does not suit you, then you can add sugar or liquid honey to the cranberries. I add sugar after vodka.
STEP 6

Close the jar with a lid and also place it in a dark, warm place for 3 weeks. The jar needs to be shaken every 2-3 days.
STEP 7

After 3 weeks, filter the tincture through 4 layers of gauze and a cotton filter. Squeeze the pulp well. For better results, you can filter the tincture twice.
STEP 8

Pour the filtered tincture into a bottle and cool. Enjoy your tasting!
