STEP 1

And if necessary, the proportions can be increased. Take the ripe and sweetest cherries. If you add more sugar, the tincture will become similar to liqueur.

Wash the cherries and place them in a jar of suitable size. You don't have to remove the bones. This will make the taste more tart. If desired, you can crush the berries a little. But during infusion, vodka will draw both color and taste from the berries.

Cover the berries in a jar with sugar.

Pour the contents with vodka so that it completely covers the cherries.

Place the lid on the jar and shake until the sugar begins to dissolve. Place the jar in a dark place for at least 2 weeks. The optimal time for preparing the tincture is 3-6 weeks. In this case, there is no need to rush! The longer it sits, the richer the taste and color will be. Periodically shake the jar of cherry tincture with pits so that the sugar dissolves.
STEP 6

Strain the finished cherry tincture and pour into a decanter or bottle. Store it in a dark place.
STEP 7

It is advisable to cool the tincture before serving. Please note that the tincture is quite strong, about 40 degrees, so you should use it in moderation. Enjoy your meal!
