Caramelized pear in a frying pan
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make delicious caramelized pears in a frying pan? To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. Choose firm pears, not soft ones. Soft pears will quickly boil and lose their shape. I have Abbot pears. Try it to suit your taste. You can add a cinnamon stick to the caramel for flavoring (step 4). I have cream liqueur, but you can use any other liqueur, wine or non-alcoholic syrup to suit your taste. Or don't add anything at all.
STEP 2
First, prepare the caramel. Add sugar to the pan and melt over low heat until light golden brown. This process is long, about 10-15 minutes, so you need to be patient. There is no need to stir the mass with anything, because the sugar will stick to the spatula and gather into dense lumps, which will then be difficult to break. The most you can do is move the pan up and down without lifting it from the stove.
STEP 3
When the sugar melts and acquires a light golden color, add butter and stir until smooth. Everything needs to be done over low heat.
STEP 4
When all the oil has dissolved and the mixture comes to a boil again, pour in the liqueur while stirring constantly, followed by hot water. Bring the mixture to a boil again, stirring constantly. Boil the caramel syrup at a low simmer for about 5-7 minutes so that excess water evaporates and the syrup thickens slightly. The mass should be homogeneous, fluid, and have a beautiful golden hue.
STEP 5
While the syrup is cooking, prepare the pears. Wash them and peel them. If there is a tail, leave it.
STEP 6
Cut each pear in half lengthwise and remove the seeds. To give stability, you can cut off the bottom of the pears a little. If desired, cut another additional pear at the widest part into 3 circles approximately 1 cm thick.
STEP 7
Place the prepared pears in the syrup and simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally. The pears should become soft and the caramel syrup should thicken a little more.
STEP 8
Remove the pears from the caramel syrup and cool. Place a pear circle in the middle of each plate. Place 2 halves of pears on it. Pour the remaining syrup from the pan over the pears themselves. If desired, the caramel can be further boiled until thick and darker in color.
STEP 9
If desired, add a little berry sauce to the dessert. Garnish the dessert with fresh berries, mint and serve. Bon appetit!
