Turkey steak can be obtained in two ways: buy it ready-made in the store or cut it from existing poultry fillet. In this case, the fillet can be taken from any part of the carcass, even from the breast, even from the thigh. You need to make sure that there are no films or veins on the meat. If there is, delete it. Also, if the piece of meat is not wide enough, you can increase it like this. Cut the piece into two halves, not reaching the end, and unfold it like a book.

Since this bird itself is a bit dry (compared to the same chicken), it is recommended to use fairly thick pieces in turkey steak recipes, at least one and a half centimeters thick. Or better yet, up to 2.5 cm.

The easiest way to cook turkey steak is to fry it in a pan with oil. To do this, the meat pieces, cleaned of all excess, need to be washed and dried with napkins. Then rub with salt and pepper on both sides. And fry them in a hot frying pan with oil. The turkey should lie freely on the surface, with free space between the pieces.

First, the steaks need to be fried over high heat for about two minutes for each side - a crust should appear that will seal all the juices inside. Then reduce the heat to medium or low and fry for another five minutes. For more flavor, you can add garlic, a sprig of rosemary, thyme or other dry herbs to the oil. When everything is ready, cover with a lid and let sit for 8-10 minutes.

The dish is prepared in the same way on a grill pan. There are recipes for turkey steak for baking in the oven. And in most cases they are no different from the process of preparing any fillet meat.

You can serve the finished steaks with any suitable sauce. The sauce can also be used directly for frying/baking. You can also marinate the turkey to get more tender meat.
