Steamed omelette is a delicious, very quick, dietary dish suitable for all ages. It can be cooked either with a whole egg or with only whites, which makes it especially valuable for people who adhere to a balanced diet.

A fluffy, tender steamed omelette can be prepared in a double boiler, a slow cooker, a regular saucepan with a special stand, or in a glass jar. Due to the absence of “extra” products such as vegetable or any other oil, the dish is low in calories. And if you remove the yolks from it, then it is healthy, dietary, suitable for all dietary restrictions, except for fasting or veganism.

The main feature of steaming an omelet is the absence of a crispy crust. That is, it looks the same both above and below. And in terms of splendor it can compete with a well-baked airy sponge cake.

There are steamed omelette recipes in which, in addition to eggs and milk, you also add: cheese, fresh herbs, mushrooms (fried or pickled), chopped vegetables, peas, olives, corn. As well as any sweet fillings such as jam, preserves, cream, condensed milk, berries, fruits, dried fruits, candied fruits. Powdered sugar is added to the eggs themselves while beating.

This is the classic cooking method. Beat the eggs with a whisk until a light foam appears. Salt to taste. Pour in milk and stir. Pour the resulting mixture into any suitable container, place it on a steamer rack and cook for about ten minutes. If you want to use butter, it is preferable to use butter. You can grease the mold with it to make the omelette come out easier.

It is very convenient to steam an omelet in a jar, especially for babies. The baby can then be immediately spoon-fed from the same jar.
