Salad with mussels
You can add mussels to a salad: boiled, fried, baked, pickled, raw (yes, don’t be surprised, there are lovers!). The most correct approach is considered to be one in which the mussels are poured with lemon juice and placed in a dish without heat treatment. Gourmets only recognize shellfish that are processed this way. It’s more expensive to argue with them, and this doesn’t mean that boiled or fried mussels taste worse!
The first, so-called noble processing of mussels is boiling them in water with the addition of dry white wine and a set of dry spices. They get a special aroma and taste, becoming an ideal ingredient. Although you can find any other recipe for boiled mussels for salad, especially since there are a lot of them. And it's not necessary to use wine. Especially if the kids eat the salad too.
The second heat treatment is frying in a frying pan in olive oil, also with the addition of spices. Olive oil can be replaced with any other vegetable oil, just like a set of spices can be selected exclusively for yourself.
We will not consider baking in the oven - this process in itself is difficult for salads. It is recommended to choose one of the two or be content with canned mussels, already prepared and processed. In some cases, you don’t even need to cut them into small pieces - they are already packaged in jars of the optimal size.
In mussel salad recipes, you can add any vegetables to your taste, fresh herbs, marinades, pickles, boiled cereals, fruits, beans, peas, eggs, berries.
