STEP 1

How to make tomatoes with cheese and garlic in the oven? Very simple! First, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. It is better to take cheese that retains its shape and does not spread in different directions under the influence of high temperatures. Parmesan, unbrined mozzarella for pizza or other semi-dry cheese, such as Russian, are ideal. I have Parmesan.
STEP 2

Wash the tomatoes, dry them and cut them into not very thick, but not very thin slices. Choose tomatoes that are ripe but strong. Soft fruits do not hold their shape well; during the cutting and cooking process they will spread into a shapeless mass and spoil the appearance of the dish, but we need the circles to remain intact and retain their original shape as much as possible. Plum and pink tomatoes are ideal - they are sweet and fragrant.
STEP 3

Grate the cheese on a medium grater.
STEP 4

In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise with the garlic passed through a press and stir. You can replace fresh garlic with 1/2 tsp. dry.
STEP 5

Wash the dill, dry and finely chop. If you wish, you can replace or supplement with other herbs, for example, parsley, cilantro, green onions, or use a mixture of different herbs.
STEP 6

Place tomato slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet. My parchment is siliconized, so I didn’t additionally lubricate it with anything. If you have regular parchment, it is better to grease it with vegetable oil so that the tomatoes do not stick. Salt and pepper the tomatoes.
STEP 7

Lubricate each tomato slice with mayonnaise and garlic.
STEP 8

Place grated cheese on top. Place the tomatoes in an oven preheated to 180°C and bake under the grill for 5-7 minutes until the cheese has a golden crust.
STEP 9

Sprinkle chopped dill on top of the finished tomatoes.
STEP 10

Transfer the hot appetizer to a plate and serve immediately. Bon appetit!
