If you get a lot of dumplings, no problem - some can be frozen.

Next is the most important point. If you simply boil custard dumplings, you will end up with something shapeless and inedible. Therefore, they need to be steamed. Freshly molded ones need to be steamed for 3-4 minutes, and frozen ones for 5-6 minutes.
