  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients to make the lemon glaze: all you need is powdered sugar and a lemon to make the lemon juice.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

It is advisable to rinse the lemons thoroughly before use, cut them in half and extract the lemon juice in any convenient way. It will take very little. To make it easier to obtain juice, there is an interesting trick: roll a whole lemon forcefully on the table, pressing the fruit with your hand, the internal partitions will collapse and the juice will flow out faster.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

It is advisable to sift the powdered sugar through a fine strainer before use. If you prepare the powder yourself and grind the sugar in a coffee grinder immediately before preparing the lemon glaze, you can skip the sifting step.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Gradually start adding squeezed lemon juice to the powdered sugar. Take your time! Constantly stir the sugar mass, which will become more and more fluid from thick.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Mix the lemon juice and powdered sugar thoroughly to form a slowly flowing, homogeneous, thick mass. The good thing about the recipe is that if the glaze is too thick, you can dilute it with juice and vice versa, if it is very liquid, add more powdered sugar.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

The prepared lemon glaze is ready for further use. Use it immediately after cooking, before the glaze begins to dry out. Bon appetit!

I use this easy lemon glaze recipe often. It always turns out successful, and the thickness can be adjusted to your taste. This time I took half as many ingredients. It was necessary to pour the gingerbread on top. Of course, it is better to sift the powdered sugar. But I didn’t have time for this, so I simply measured 50 g of powder on the scales and added ready-made lemon juice from a bottle. When stirred, all the lumps disappeared. The glaze turned out smooth and translucent. It then froze a little on the pie, but did not crumble. The glaze perfectly complements any baked goods with its sour citrus taste.
