Kirieshki

Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to make homemade kirieshki in the oven? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. It is better to use yesterday's black bread, which has dried out a little, so that it will not crumble when slicing with a knife. You need to cut the bread into thin slices, no more than 0.5 centimeters thick, so that the bread dries or roasts well. Turn on the oven at 180 degrees.
STEP 2

In turn, cut the slices of bread into thin strips, but you can also cut them into small cubes, but of the same shape, so that during drying the bread dries evenly. Kirieshki come in different shapes: square, round or rectangular.
STEP 3

Spices - salt, ground black pepper, paprika, garlic powder - mix in a bowl. Add olive oil. If desired, the set of spices can be changed or changed according to taste and availability. Those who like spicier croutons can add a pinch of ground red pepper or a set of peppers for more flavor. Place the pieces of bread in a bowl with the sauce and mix well so that the bread is saturated with the filling. Do this carefully so as not to crumble the bread.
STEP 4

Crackers can be dried in the oven or in the microwave. Cover a baking sheet or refractory pan with parchment if desired, but it is not necessary; the croutons will not stick to the bottom of the pan, as they are soaked in oil. Place the baking sheet with croutons in the oven for 10 minutes. The exact time depends on your oven. You can learn about the operating features of ovens by reading a separate article, link at the end of the recipe. While drying, stir the crackers a couple of times.
STEP 5

Remove the crackers from the oven. It must be taken into account that hot crackers will be soft until they cool, so you cannot keep them in the oven until they harden, otherwise they may burn and become bitter. The kirieshki are ready, serve them with soup or simply as a crispy snack. Bon appetit!
