  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook dried rosehip compote? Prepare the ingredients according to the list.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Dried rose hips can be purchased at a pharmacy or store, but it is better to use those collected independently in environmentally friendly places and dried according to the rules (in a well-ventilated place, not in direct sunlight).

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Rinse dried rose hips thoroughly. It’s even better to pour boiling water over it to remove plaque and dust that may be on the surface of the berries. Place the berries in a saucepan or other container for cooking compote, crush the rose hips a little with a masher, but do not grind them into dust. The berries should remain intact.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Pour clean cold water over the berries and put on fire. When the water boils, reduce the heat to medium. Add sugar. Its quantity can be changed depending on taste preferences. You can use honey instead of sugar if you are not allergic to this product.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Boil the compote for 5-7 minutes from the moment it boils. There is no need to cook rose hips longer so that all the beneficial substances and vitamins are not destroyed. Cover the pan with a lid and leave the drink to brew for about half an hour.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Before pouring the compote into cups, it is better to strain it through a strainer. If the compote tastes too concentrated and strong, then it can be diluted with boiled cold or warm water. Bon appetit!

I wanted something warm and tasty, so I prepared dried rosehip compote. There are just a few dried berries left from last year. Preparing compote is easy and quick. The hardest thing for me was waiting for the drink to brew, but I still waited! I didn’t add sugar to the compote, but added honey to the already brewed and slightly cooled compote. It turned out delicious and full of vitamins! Thanks for the recipe!

I love rose hips very much and so do all my relatives. I decided to try this recipe, purchased rose hips in a specialized store, washed the dried product thoroughly, and poured boiling water over it (as in the recipe). I poured clean cold water over the berries and put it on the fire, after boiling I added sugar. Cooked for 5-7 minutes from the moment of boiling. Covered the pan with a lid and left the drink to brew for about half an hour (according to the recipe). When it had brewed and cooled completely, I strained it through a strainer. It turned out very tasty, my family and I are very happy. I will continue to use this recipe in the future, it’s delicious and simple, and most importantly, very healthy! Thanks for the recipe!

For me, such a compote is a discovery. I didn’t even think that you could cook something like this from rose hips. And as you know, rosehip is a storehouse of vitamin C. So it’s not just a tasty drink, but also a cold preventative.
