How to cook cranberry jelly with starch? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. Remove cranberries from twigs and leaves and rinse to remove dirt. Take potato starch. The amount of sugar can be adjusted slightly to suit your taste. The amount of starch can also be changed, depending on the desired thickness of the jelly. After the first preparation, you will be able to decide on its exact quantity.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Grind the washed berries in any convenient way. This can be done in a chopper, scrolled through a meat grinder or crushed with a masher.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour boiling water over the chopped berries and leave to stand for 15-20 minutes under the lid. During this time, all the juices from the berries will go into the water.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Now strain through a fine strainer.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Pour the resulting juice into a saucepan, add sugar and put on fire. In a separate glass, combine starch and cold water. When the cranberry juice boils, pour the starch into it, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil again and simmer for 1-2 minutes over low heat. As it boils, the jelly will become thicker.

The finished jelly is very tasty both hot and cold. To prevent a film from forming on the surface as it cools, sprinkle the jelly with a thin layer of sugar. A delicious berry treat for children and adults is ready! Enjoy your meal!

I recently made cranberry jelly and I liked its taste so much that I found another recipe for cranberry jelly with starch on the site and made myself a delicious one. In our family, I’m the only one who likes jelly, so I always cook it for 500 ml. water to drink during the day. After cooling in the refrigerator, drinks with starch become a little cloudy, although they remain tasty. I cooked from frozen berries, washed them and immediately poured boiling water over them. I immediately crushed it with a masher to make a puree. The berries splash a lot of juice and crushing them in water is “safer” for the kitchen). As indicated in the recipe description, I strained the infusion, added sugar and brought to a boil. Then she poured in the starch solution and brewed it. There is enough sugar for my taste; I like the sour taste. With this amount of potato starch, the jelly turned out to be medium thick. You can drink it and eat it with a spoon. I also appreciated the technique of sprinkling the surface with sugar; after 10 minutes I didn’t find the film) Very beautiful, healthy and tasty jelly!

I love this jelly. I cook exactly the same way. But it’s more convenient to use a wooden potato masher instead of using a spoon to crush cranberries. Kissels are almost never cooked now, but in vain
