  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Pour dried apricots and raisins into small deep plates separately and fill with warm water. When 5 minutes have passed, drain the water and rinse the dried apricots and raisins well. This will remove possible debris and the water will remain cleaner when cooking compote.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Pour the prepared washed raisins and dried apricots into an enamel pan of suitable volume - they can be cut into smaller pieces. Sprinkle granulated sugar on top. If you like sweeter drinks, you can increase the amount of sugar according to your taste preferences.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour clean water in the amount of 3 liters. I use melt water for food, which I first freeze in the freezer and then defrost. With such water, all the sediment remains at the bottom, harmful impurities leave. Place the pan on medium heat, cover it with a lid and wait until the water boils.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

After this, keep the pan on the stove for about 10-15 minutes. During this time, the compote will acquire a rich color and will be ready for use. Turn off the heat and let the compote cool. After this, you can pour it into a glass jar - to do this, you need to put gauze on the neck of the jar, which will trap all the debris. Cover the container with a lid and put the compote in the refrigerator. It tastes much better when chilled.
