How to cook fresh apple compote in a saucepan? To prepare apple compote, prepare all the necessary ingredients. Use ripe, sweet and sour varieties of apples. Choose firm fruits. If you take the apples too soft, then during cooking they will become very soft. Red apples will make compote pink, and light varieties will be paler. The more apples there are, the more concentrated the finished compote will be.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the apples in running water to remove any dirt, cut into slices, removing the core. Place the chopped apples in a saucepan in which you will cook the compote. For cooking, you can use dishes that do not oxidize, for example, enameled or non-stick. Aluminum will not work here. Read about choosing a pan in the article at the end of the recipe.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour water over the chopped apples and place the pan on the heat. Bring everything together to a boil.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add sugar to the boiling apples in a saucepan. Add the amount of sugar to your taste. Focus on the taste of the apples themselves. If the apples are sour, you may need to add a little more sugar. Stir the compote until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Boil the compote for 2-3 minutes and remove from heat. Cover the pan with a lid and leave to steep until completely cool.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Strain the finished compote through a fine sieve and pour into a carafe. In the summer, it is best to cool the compote in the refrigerator before serving.

Wonderful, very aromatic and tasty compote! I added a little less sugar than in the recipe. I took different varieties of apples, some were very sweet, and a few were sour. The apples from the compote were the first to be eaten. The children were delighted! Julia, thank you very much for the simple and wonderful recipe!

I really liked the compote! The taste of the apples faded into the background, but that’s okay. There is no particular smell, but there was a smell during cooking. Made it in 15 minutes. which is quite fast, I advise everyone to try it. You can also make a delicious puree from the remaining apples in the blender (tip: peel the apples if you want to make more puree). What I got looked like water, but probably because it was the wrong type.

Nice compote, fresh apples from the south of Russia have already appeared in the store and it’s time to replace industrially produced juices with fresh fruit compotes. It’s a very simple recipe and the kids really like the compote, for variety I add frozen cranberries or lingonberries, it’s very tasty and healthy.

Surprisingly, for the first time in my life, according to your recipe, I cooked normal, edible compote)) Usually it came out either sour, or tasteless, or too sweet - so I despaired of cooking them) I followed all the instructions, of which a little, and voila! Only I still had smaller apples - I wanted to give them to the child. Unfortunately, I got too carried away during the process and forgot about the photo. Thank you!

So another relative from somewhere presented me with a bag of apples for the child. I immediately decided to cook compote. Thanks to the author for the recipe, it is very simple and without any problems, and the cooking time is nothing. I cooked it in the morning, and in the afternoon you can take it with you for a walk. True, I will use a minimum amount of sugar; after all, a child’s body does not need a lot of it.
