  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make an Anthill cake? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Butter and boiled condensed milk should be at room temperature, so remove them from the refrigerator in advance.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Crush the cookies into small pieces with your hands. You can use shortbread or biscuit cookies. To speed up the process, you can put all the cookies in a bag and lightly beat them with a rolling pin. The main thing is not to let the cookies become fine crumbs. For a beautiful cut we need small whole pieces.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Chop the walnuts with a knife or lightly grind in a blender until small pieces. If you wish, you can roast the nuts in a dry frying pan for a couple of minutes to release the aroma.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Now prepare the cream. Place the soft butter in a large bowl and beat with a mixer until fluffy.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add boiled condensed milk and beat everything together until smooth and fluffy. If you use store-bought condensed milk, it is important to choose it correctly. If you shake the jar, no sound should be heard inside. If you can hear the condensed milk gurgling inside, it means it is of poor quality. High-quality condensed milk has a dense, non-running consistency!

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add nuts and cookies to the cream. Mix everything thoroughly.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

It is necessary that the cream covers all the nuts and cookies, connecting the crumbly parts together.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Place the resulting mass in a heap on a dish. Press firmly with your hands, forming an even, high dome, reminiscent of an anthill.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Sprinkle the resulting mound with poppy seeds on all sides, imitating ants. I also sprinkled poppy seeds around the anthill to make the cake as similar as possible to the real thing. Place the cake in the refrigerator for 4 hours for the cream to soak and harden.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

After cooling, the cake is very well cut into even pieces, does not crumble or fall apart. Bon appetit!

I really wanted to make a cake for a children’s party, but without baking - it’s too hot in the summer. Desserts made from cookies are very helpful on hot summer days. I found an anthill cake made from cookies with condensed milk through a search engine. I took it as a basis, but wanted to design it in an unusual and original way. I decided to make a cake in the shape of a hedgehog) Now we have a lot of hedgehogs running around and my son calls them “oh-oh”. I bought the missing ingredients and started cooking. Surprisingly, it took about 15 minutes to prepare. During this time, I crushed the shortbread cookies and nuts in a blender; I wanted fine crumbs, without large pieces, I made a cream from soft butter and boiled condensed milk, and mixed everything. But the decoration took about 20 minutes, the longest I stuck in were the “needles”) Then I put the mass on a dish in the shape of a hedgehog and sprinkled with poppy seeds. Then I made the nose and eyes with raisins, and imitated needles with peeled sunflower seeds. I put the cake in the refrigerator. It turned out great! The effect was a success, the child was happy))) The cake turned out tender, soft, not cloying and very tasty. Thanks to the author for the wonderful recipe!

Thank you very much for the recipe. This cake is from my childhood, my mother always made it. Unfortunately, my mother is no longer with us, but the taste returned to those warm times.

I took pear condensed milk instead of the usual one, 30 percent more. My cake came out, but not so pretty - I was afraid to crumble the pieces of cookies too much, and they turned out to be large, and it takes about a day to steep.. in general, not bad, especially when there is nowhere to put the same pear condensed milk.
