STEP 1
To make village cottage cheese, you only need milk.
STEP 2
Pour homemade milk into a jar and leave for 2 days. During this time, the sour cream will rise; it can be collected in a separate container.
STEP 3
For convenience, pour the milk clot into a 3-liter jar. Take a large saucepan, put a towel on the bottom and place the jar. Pour water into the pan so that it completely covers the curd. Bring the water to a boil and turn off the heat. Cover the pan with a lid and leave for 1 hour.
STEP 4
As a result, the curds and whey will separate.
STEP 5
Place the cottage cheese on cheesecloth.
STEP 6
Hang the cottage cheese for 1-2 hours to drain the whey.
STEP 7
Transfer the cottage cheese to a bowl and place in the refrigerator for storage. Bon appetit!

I often make homemade cottage cheese using different cooking options. I was very interested in your recipe for homemade country cottage cheese. I haven’t made cottage cheese in a jar before and decided to try it. I used fresh homemade cow's milk. I managed to collect sour cream (for nettle soup), and the whey came in handy (for bread), and the curd came out great. Just 3 in 1! The recipe is very simple and straightforward, I prepared it without any changes. I weighed the cottage cheese in gauze for 1 hour so that it would not be too dry. The result was a very tasty, soft and tender cottage cheese. I used it to prepare the filling for pancakes. I liked the recipe for making village cottage cheese in a jar, it’s simple and accessible. Good recipe! Delicious and healthy cottage cheese! Thank you!
