Tea mushroom

An infusion of kombucha will fill you with energy and maintain body tone. Many sites write that kombucha can be grown from tea leaves without any problems. As practice has shown, this is almost impossible to do. If a few lucky people, after a month, on the surface of the tea instead of white mold, something similar to a dense mushroom finally appears, after some time it begins to turn green. So the only way to get kombucha is to borrow a layer from a kind neighbor or buy this mushroom at the store. It's inexpensive, so it won't be a problem. There are points in Moscow where you can purchase it with home delivery. Attention! People with diabetes should avoid this drink! But not because the mushroom is harmful to them, it’s just that the drink contains a lot of sugar!

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to grow kombucha at home? Prepare the necessary ingredients.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

    Brew tea as usual.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Immediately add sugar to it and stir.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Brewed tea should be regular, not strong, and always cooled down. Rinse the kombucha thoroughly in clean water. If it is too thick, divide it, leaving a layer 0.5 cm thick. That is, leave only one layer. The remaining layers can either be given away or thrown away. Place the kombucha on the bottom of a 3-liter jar and pour our tea on top. To prevent the tea leaves from getting inside, do it through a strainer.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Cover the top of the jar with a linen napkin, secure it so that midges cannot penetrate inside. And leave it in the kitchen away from sunlight for a day or two. The infusion time for kombucha depends on the taste you want in the finished drink. If it’s thicker or sharper, let it sit longer. If it is softer, then let it cost less. The same applies to added sugar - add it to your taste.

I accidentally saw kombucha on the website. I decided to season my mushroom using this recipe. My mushroom is many years old, it was bought a long time ago, I take care of it and wash it often, throwing out the old layers. I prepared a brew from black tea bags and sugar, pouring boiling water over it. I washed the kombucha and put it in a 2-liter jar. I poured the cooled tea leaves into a jar, tightly closed the neck with gauze to prevent midges, and placed it in the kitchen for a day, as the author writes. The next day (seen in the photo) half a can of the drink was gone, the household had already drunk it, it was too delicious! The drink came out very tasty, sweet, light and refreshing. In the summer heat it's just right. Kombucha is not only delicious, but also very healthy. I advise everyone to try it! Thanks to the author!

I’ll also add a little here. The mushroom infusion should be drained every five to six days in winter and every two to four days in summer. Also, do not forget that the mushroom must be washed regularly with clean, cool water; in summer, this should be done every one to two weeks, and in winter, every three to four weeks. If the mushroom remains in the solution, the upper film begins to turn brown. This is a sure sign that the mushroom is beginning to die. If this living organism is not fed in a timely manner or if its nutrition is completely stopped, the liquid turns into acetic acid, holes appear on the body of the mushroom, it painfully turns over, lies sideways for a long time, and then dies completely, slowly sinking to the bottom. Thank you very much!!! I had kombucha, but I couldn’t grow it myself

Yes, the mushroom dies quickly if you don’t take care of it... Therefore, it is very useful to know the recipe for growing it. Anyone at what stage of the process, please sign up!
