    STEP 1

How to make tongues from puff pastry with sugar? Prepare your ingredients. I have yeast-free dough, purchased. You can prepare it at home yourself, you can use yeast puff pastry. Remove the frozen dough from the packaging and leave it for a few minutes at room temperature. Then separate the plates from each other and leave for another 1.5 hours. I use brown cane sugar, I like it better in baking, but you can use regular sugar.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

When the dough is defrosted, turn on the oven to preheat to 200 degrees. Place the defrosted dough on a flat surface, cut each layer into several equal small oblong rectangles. To make the finished puff pastry more fluffy, it is better not to roll out the dough, but only stretch it slightly with your hands (if necessary). Place the tongues on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Break the raw egg into a separate bowl and beat lightly. Use a pastry brush to coat each tongue with it. Sprinkle each piece evenly with sugar. Place the baking sheet with the tongues in the preheated oven. Bake the tongues until golden brown (about 10-15 minutes). Focus on the features of your oven. Remove the finished puff pastries from the oven and be sure to let them cool a little to evenly distribute the moisture.

    STEP 4

Serve the finished tongues with sugar slightly cooled. They go perfectly with tea, a cup of coffee or a glass of milk.

My daughter and I made these puff pastry tongues with sugar together) I controlled the process and put them in the oven. The dough layer was cut into strips, and then into 2-3 more parts. Brush the strips with beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar. It’s good that I covered the baking sheet with parchment in advance, otherwise I would have had to scrub this mixture for a long time) In general, the recipe is simple and accessible, and even a child could cope with its complexity. Our tongues turned out to be fluffy inside and flaky well. It was very pleasant to drink tea with such cookies, especially those made with your own hands (I’m talking about my daughter)) Good recipe, delicious puff pastries and a great mood!
