  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

For the B-52 cocktail, take a 50 ml shot. or any tall, smooth glass. The total volume of the drink, traditionally, does not exceed 60 ml, so that it is convenient to drink it in one sip. As a rule, exact proportions for layered cocktails are not given. Since everyone’s shots are different, the layers should be the same in height. All liqueurs must be chilled in advance. Pour in the first layer of Kahlua coffee liqueur.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

The next layer is Baileys cream liqueur. It doesn’t mix well with coffee liqueur, but still, to be on the safe side, I add Baileys like this. I take an ordinary teaspoon (bartenders use a special bar spoon), turn it upside down right in the glass, and slowly pour the liquor onto the spoon.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

The layer lays down evenly due to the fact that the liquor flows smoothly and does not flow in a sharp stream. And it does not mix with the previous layer, due to the different densities of liqueurs.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Wash the spoon and wipe dry. You can just take a new one. It's time for Cointreau. In exactly the same way, using a spoon, carefully and very slowly pour the orange liqueur into the shot.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

The last layer of “B-52” is the most difficult, since “Baileys” and “Cointreau” mix well with each other. It’s unlikely that you will get an even layer the first time, but with each approach it will turn out better and better! Provided that you don’t drink yourself :) Then the cocktail is set on fire. This is usually done with a match to avoid getting burned, but I have seen bartenders also use a lighter. Just, I beg you, no injuries! The cocktail is served with an iron straw. Use immediately.

By the way, did you know that Baileys liqueur for the B-52 cocktail can be successfully prepared at home?! The taste will be almost indistinguishable from the original Irish drink. Here is an example recipe.
