Alcoholic Mojito cocktail
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make an alcoholic Mojito cocktail? Prepare all the necessary products. Traditionally, Mojito uses Sprite, so I advise you to use this sparkling water, but you can also use regular sparkling mineral water. The key to a delicious cocktail is fresh lemon and mint; dried mint will not work. Lemon can be replaced with lime. But, no matter what citrus fruit you take, you need to wash it very well, because it will be used with the peel
STEP 2
Wash the lemon or lime with very hot water - this way the fruit will release more juice and release it into the drink. In principle, to prepare the drink, you can take ready-made factory-produced lemon or lime juice. Cut the lemon into half circles. Their thickness should be about 2-3 mm. Rinse the mint very well with warm water, dry and chop coarsely; you can also simply tear it with your hands.
STEP 3
Place chopped lemon and mint in a bowl and mash with a mortar. You can also grind with a spoon, fork or masher. Our goal is for mint and lemon to fully release their juice and aroma.
STEP 4
Place the lemon, mint and juice into a serving glass. By the way, it is not at all necessary to prepare Mojito right away in glasses: if you are gathered with a large group, you can make the cocktail in a large decanter or jug.
STEP 5
Pour Sprite into a glass. Don't forget to cool it well first! In my opinion, Sprite water is quite sweet, but if you have a group of girls with a sweet tooth, then you can add sugar to taste.
STEP 6
Lastly, carefully pour in the rum. Rum is a fairly strong drink, but you can also use slightly less strong drinks to make Mojito: vodka, gin or whiskey. You can add crushed ice to the finished cocktail, but in my opinion, ice is the same as water and it will simply dilute the finished drink. It’s better to immediately take well-chilled Sprite and rum. Proceed in the way that is most convenient for you.
STEP 7
Serve your homemade Mojito cocktail with rum straight to the table. It is very refreshing, but also quickly intoxicates. Be careful when drinking alcoholic beverages!
