Yorkshire pudding

Light and easy to prepare pudding - perfect for tea! Yorkshire pudding is made from pancake batter. It tastes and looks like eclairs. The empty center of the puddings can be filled with sweet or savory filling. They go well with creams with a delicate texture: custard, cream, cheese.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

First, sift the flour into a deep bowl, add salt and beat in the eggs. How to bake a delicious and fluffy Yorkshire pudding? I’ll share my experience: for this test, the eggs must be at room temperature, so you need to take them out of the refrigerator in advance and leave them in a warm place for some time.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Mix the flour and eggs with a fork until thickened.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour in warm milk and mix with a whisk the batter, which in all respects is similar to the pancake dough we are used to. This method of kneading the dough will allow us to avoid the appearance of unwanted lumps. You can also simplify the process of preparing the dough: to do this, simply mix all the products in a deep bowl and knead the dough with a mixer or blender with a whisk attachment.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Cover the bowl with the dough with cling film and let it stand.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

To bake puddings, we will use muffin tins that you have on hand: silicone, aluminum, paper, Teflon. I have two types of silicone. The size and quantity of puddings will depend on the size of the cells.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

We preheat the molds in the oven - this is necessary so that a hole does not form in the bottom. Grease the heated molds with vegetable or melted butter. If your choice fell on butter, then you can put a small piece in each cell before heating the mold and it will melt on its own.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Fill the molds with dough, but not to the brim, but 1/2 full, since the dough will rise well during baking.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

    Fill in all the cells.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Preheat the oven and set the temperature to 200 degrees. Bake the puddings for 20 minutes until fully cooked. Do not open the oven door during baking to prevent the dough from falling. As a result, we should have puddings that are hollow inside and very soft on the outside.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

They can be served with first and second courses, as they are unsweetened.

Having seen an interesting recipe for Yorkshire pudding on the website, I immediately went to make it. I've been wanting to try these popping buns for a long time). I halved the number of servings, so I got exactly 6 buns. The dough turned out the same as for pancakes, it is quite liquid and homogeneous. I followed the advice of adding milk in portions and this helped prevent lumps from forming. The baking process was repeated exactly by the author. I set the time on a timer so that everything was accurate. I placed the form with the dough in another deep form and did not regret it. The oil does splatter during baking. It is interesting to watch how the pudding rises from the molds in different barrels). At first the buns were very fluffy, but after cooling they deflated slightly. I decided to drizzle them with melted chocolate. They have a neutral taste, so filling or topping is a must, in my opinion. Can be supplemented with sour cream or jam. The inside of the pudding looks like very fluffy pancakes. My husband said that they look similar to eclairs, but are much juicier. Children are also delighted with the “cakes”). In general, six pieces weren’t enough for us, so we took them right away while they were still warm! Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe!
