  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook oatmeal in the microwave with milk? Prepare your food. You can take any oat flakes - both quick-cooking flakes and those that need to be cooked for a long time. With the latter, the flakes themselves will be more pronounced, and with the faster ones, the porridge will be softer. You can take cow's or goat's milk of any fat content, it all depends on your taste and capabilities. But the higher the fat content of the milk, the tastier the porridge will be, although it will be higher in calories.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Take a deep microwave-safe bowl and pour the oats into it. Pour in water and add salt. Turn on the microwave for 5 minutes at maximum power (mine is 1000 Watts) and wait for the beep to finish cooking. If your microwave is less powerful, increase the cooking time by 2-3 minutes.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Remove the bowl from the microwave (be careful not to burn yourself!!!) and pour in the milk. Stir well as the porridge may stick to the bottom and then burn.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add sugar to taste and stir.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Return the bowl of porridge to the microwave and turn it on for 3 minutes at maximum power. After the end of cooking beeps, leave the porridge inside for another 3 minutes.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Remove the bowl of porridge and immediately place it on plates. Add butter if desired. Bon appetit!

Recently I switched to instant porridge, but the proportions and time indicated on the packaging do not suit me. I found this recipe for Oatmeal in the microwave with milk and decided to try it. I measured the amount of oatmeal in one bag, it turned out to be exactly half a glass. Accordingly, I took half a glass of water and milk. I used 0.5% milk; I didn’t take full-fat milk, because the cereal already had cream. My microwave is not very powerful, but it took me the same amount of time to cook. I was completely satisfied with the consistency of the porridge! Finally, I now know the proportions I need) Cooking in two stages is good because the porridge is mixed during the process, so it cooks evenly. My oatmeal was in the form of small flakes, so it turned out to be the most tender and very tasty porridge for breakfast. I liked this recipe. Thank you!
