Cold coffee

Cold coffee perfectly invigorates and quenches thirst in hot weather! I tried iced coffee for the first time in Greece and simply fell in love with it. If you have never drank this before, I highly recommend giving it a try!

    Prepare ice cubes. I don't have special ice cube trays in the refrigerator, so I use a special bag that you can buy at the supermarket. The cubes are usually frozen in the freezer for 25-30 minutes. If you already have ready-made ice in the refrigerator, you can skip this step.

    Make some coffee. I have a capsule coffee maker, so that's what I use. If you drink instant coffee, or prepare coffee in any other way, then prepare a portion as you usually prepare it.

    Leave the coffee to cool. If you drink coffee with sugar, add it to the drink at this stage. I drink coffee with a small piece of brown cane sugar, I think it tastes better than with regular white sugar.

    Prepare a tall glass or large mug. Take the ice out of the freezer, take out a few pieces of ice and put it in a glass, add the cooled coffee and sugar there.

    Add cream or milk to your iced drink to taste. You can also add a scoop of ice cream to your coffee. Happy coffee drinking! Enjoy!

In my understanding, iced coffee is coffee that I started drinking at six in the morning and finished closer to eight. In general, it’s very interesting to do familiar things in a new way. I've never purposefully chilled my coffee (adding ice cream doesn't count because I drink the coffee before it has time to cool). I made coffee in a coffee maker. I didn't add sugar. I put three pieces of ice in the coffee. I added milk with a fat content of 3.6%. To be honest, I didn’t notice the difference in taste between purposefully cooled and simply cooled coffee. I was interested in the process itself: not just make coffee and add milk to it, but prepare ice in advance, brew coffee, cool it, add ice to it. And I already want to not just drink coffee by the way, but to approach the process of “coffee drinking” consciously - set the table (or, conversely, remove everything unnecessary from the table), put things aside (even if only for five minutes), sit quietly, without being distracted by anything. what, and just feel the taste of coffee. It turns out to be a whole coffee ceremony. I think this is a great opportunity to add variety to your daily life. OlgaHiiri, great soft drink! Coffee is mostly drunk hot, but in the summer when it’s hot, why not cool it down, and even have something delicious like ice cream. Thank you very much for the recipe!
