    STEP 1

How to make a Barbie cake? With ready-made sponge cakes and step-by-step photos, it couldn't be easier! You can buy the cakes or bake them in advance (see the description below the steps for a link to recipes for sponge cakes). If you decide to bake a sponge cake yourself, keep in mind that the cake layers must be high enough, so that 3 cake layers are proportional to the height of the doll’s skirt. Let's start assembling the cake. Cut a suitable hole in the middle of the cakes for installing the doll.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Frost the top of the first sponge cake with buttercream. If you don’t yet have your favorite cake cream in your culinary kit, then I left a link to the cream recipes in the description under the steps.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the next cake layer on the coated sponge cake and coat with cream.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place the third cake layer on top. Use a knife to make a bevel on the last biscuit.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

And coat the resulting structure with cream on all sides. Level the cream as best as possible, since we will be laying mastic on top of it. Place the cake in the refrigerator for an hour to allow the cream to harden.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Roll out the mastic to a thickness of 1.5 mm on a silicone mat and cut out the shape as in the photo.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Roll out a little thinner with a wooden stick.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Cut into pieces and place on the cake as shown in the photo.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Roll out pink fondant into a circle with a diameter of 35 cm.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Cut a circle in the middle and a triangle at the edge (see photo). If desired, you can apply a pattern with any stamp.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Place the dress on the cake.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Make a flower with a diameter of 10 cm from the remaining white mastic.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Also make a flower with a diameter of 8 cm from pink mastic. Place them on top of each other and roll them out.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Cut a hole for the doll.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Place flower circles on top of cake.

  16. STEP 16

    STEP 16

Wrap the doll in cling film.

  17. STEP 17

    STEP 17

Make the top of her dress out of fondant and insert it into the hole of the cake.

  18. STEP 18

    STEP 18

Cover the hole with a white mastic roller.

  19. STEP 19

    STEP 19

Cut out small flowers from white fondant.

  20. STEP 20

    STEP 20

    Decorate your dress with flowers.

  21. STEP 21

    STEP 21

Now that the doll is dressed in a delicious dress, you can serve this charming cake to the table! Bon appetit to the whole company.
