Salad with smoked ham
Recipes for salad with smoked ham, in addition to the main ingredient, can include any combination of vegetables, cereals, nuts, mushrooms, legumes, croutons, herbs, spices and even fruits and berries. In fact, in any salad that contains chicken, you can replace it with smoked chicken. The taste will, of course, change, but not for the worse.
It is preferable to use meat from the thigh rather than the drumstick for this dish. There it is juicier, softer, more tender. And just eat the drumsticks, for example. Be sure to free the meat from cartilages and bones. And cut finely into cubes or thin strips. The latter is even preferable - the mixture of flavors in the salad will be more harmonious. Chop other ingredients in the same way.
You can add mayonnaise to a salad made from smoked legs - it is quite suitable as a sauce. It also goes well with Korean carrots, salted or pickled vegetables, boiled potatoes, canned corn, pineapples, fresh or canned.
Smoked chicken and fresh red tomatoes go together perfectly - you can create different salad compositions based on these two products.
Important: the skin from the leg must be removed - never add it to your salad!
Helpful tip: try adding fried onions to the salad, which you then need to mix with chopped chicken and let sit for a while so that the flavors mix and absorb each other. You will be pleasantly surprised! Especially if the onion has time to impart not only its taste to the meat, but also its warmth. The same scheme works with fried mushrooms.
It is very good to serve a salad with smoked legs warm. To do this, it must contain the appropriate ingredients (boiled/fried foods).
