Ice Cream Cake

They look different, each uses its own technology, and may contain different products. There are two types of this cake: baked in the oven or in a slow cooker, or without baking at all. The main advantage of all Ice Cream cake recipes is that their taste is strongly reminiscent of the ice cream of the same name, loved by everyone. However, cake layers can be very different: shortbread, sponge cake, puff pastry, custard, even honey. Because the main taste of the cake is given by the cream, which is also called. And the task of the home pastry chef is to ensure that the taste of the cakes does not interrupt the taste of the cream, but only emphasizes it.
One of the classic cooking options today is shortbread. The dough is kneaded with flour, butter, sour cream, soda and salt. Sugar is not included in the original recipe, but you can add a little to taste. This dough does not distract attention from the buttercream. The cakes are baked separately, thin. They come out very crumbly. Therefore, you need to trim off the excess edges while they are hot. As soon as they cool down, each one is coated with cream and stacked on top of each other. Then leave for complete impregnation. The top and sides are sprinkled with crumbs mixed with chopped walnuts. But any design would be appropriate here, including full coverage with mastic. The second method of a baked product: one cake is baked (the composition of the ingredients may vary, but ideally it should be a sponge cake), which is cut into small cubes.
