    How to microwave chicken in a baking bag? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can use whole chicken legs, drumsticks or thighs. I baked the drumsticks. Rinse the chicken under cool water and pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Instead of dried ginger, I used fresh ginger, grating it first on a fine grater. You can also add other spices to your taste.

    Mix ginger, salt and ground black pepper in a separate container. If you are using additional spices, add them at this stage as well.

    Squeeze the juice out of the orange in a way convenient for you. If desired, you can strain it through a sieve to get rid of any pulp particles.

    Peel the garlic cloves and pass through a press.

    Place the chicken in a bowl of a suitable size, add spices, garlic, orange juice and mix everything thoroughly. If you have time, leave the chicken to marinate for about one hour.

    Place the chicken in a baking bag and pour the marinade over it. Tie the bag, inflating it slightly so it doesn't touch the top of the chicken. If the clips included are not suitable for use in the microwave, you can tie the bag with regular thread. Pierce it in several places so that it does not burst during baking. Place the bag on a large plate and microwave.

    Microwave the chicken at maximum power (I use 1000 W) for 15 minutes.

    After 15 minutes, check the meat for doneness - when pierced, clear juice will flow out of it. If necessary, increase the time by another 5-10 minutes. In my case, 15 minutes was enough.

Recently, the microwave oven has become for me not only a device where I can warm up food, but also an excellent alternative to the oven. So when I came across a recipe for microwaved chicken in a bag, I decided to definitely prepare such a dish. To prepare it, I took four chicken legs (it turned out to be just a kilogram). I had all the necessary ingredients for the marinade. I marinated the chicken for about 40 minutes, after which I put it in a baking sleeve. I tied the sleeve with regular thread (I did not use the clips that came with the sleeve, because I’m not sure that they can be used in the microwave). I baked the chicken legs, as advised in the recipe, for 15 minutes at the highest power (1000 W). During this time, the meat inside was not fully cooked and remained a little raw. I turned on the microwave for another 10 minutes at the same power. This extra time was enough time for the chicken legs inside to cook through. Chicken legs in the microwave turned out no worse than in the oven, tasty, juicy and aromatic. The ginger is not very noticeable in the dish, but the orange is noticeable. My husband said that even more orange juice could have been added for a brighter taste. Thank you very much for the recipe!
