Candied whole oranges with sugar
A quick and easy recipe for candied oranges in the oven!
Step-by-step preparation
Cooking time: 1 hr
STEP 1
Wash the orange and wipe with a napkin. Cut into slices, whole rings or half rings as desired. Remove the seeds.
STEP 2
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and sprinkle with half the sugar. Place orange slices on sugar.
STEP 3
Sprinkle the remaining sugar on top of the orange slices.
STEP 4
Bake in the oven for 40 minutes at 150 degrees.
STEP 5
While the candied fruits are still warm, remove them from the parchment. For long-term storage, you can put them in a jar and sprinkle them with sugar and put them in the refrigerator.

I needed candied fruits to decorate a cake. I settled on this recipe. Knowing my oven, I set the temperature to 180 degrees. The orange slices turned out simply amazing, you can’t feel the bitterness at all! I eat them just like that, without anything, I liked them so much! Ira, aren’t candied fruits bitter? I came across a recipe that advises boiling orange slices for a couple of minutes before caramelizing to remove the bitterness from the white part of the zest.
