The cooking time is more than 2.5 hours, but this is due to the fact that the beans take a long time to cook. More onions possible. It’s also delicious with chicken broth: I made it in 1 pot with water from boiling beans, and in 2 pots with chicken broth. If you don't respect Indian spices in general or zera in particular, cook without it.
