Compote of jam and apples

Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to cook compote from jam and apples in a saucepan? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Take the apples, rinse well in running water, dry and cut into 4 parts. Remove the core from them.
STEP 2

Cut the apples into small slices, place in a prepared pan and fill with clean water. Place the pan on the fire and bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes, uncovered, over medium heat.
STEP 3

Then add any jam to the apples in the pan. I use strawberry jam. I boiled the berries in it and preserved them whole. The available syrup is quite enough for compote.
STEP 4

Add a little citric acid. This is necessary so that the drink is not cloyingly sweet. Citric acid normalizes its taste. Taste it. If the compote is not sweet enough, add a little sugar. Bring everything to a boil and remove from heat. The old jam compote is ready. Cover the pan with a lid and let stand for 15 minutes.
STEP 5

Strain the finished compote and pour into a decanter. It is good both warm and chilled. Enjoy your meal!
