STEP 1
How to make croutons from a loaf in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can use any loaf, a richer and sweeter one is suitable for dessert croutons for tea. You can also use any spices and seasonings, or you can make crackers without additives, these are suitable for any dish, even for preparing salads. The loaf does not have to be fresh; on the contrary, it will crumble more, and yesterday’s loaf will be easier to cut into even pieces.
STEP 2
Cut the loaf into slices no more than 1.5 centimeters thick, each of which is cut into small cubes.
STEP 3
Place the loaf cubes on a baking sheet lined with parchment. You can do without it, but it will make the housewife’s work easier; after preparing the creamy crackers, there will be no need to wash the baking sheet.
STEP 4
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Place the baking sheet with crackers in the oven. Melt the butter on the stove, in the microwave, or directly in the oven while the crackers are drying. If you want the crackers to be salty, then you can add a pinch of salt or spices to the melted butter; if they are sweet, then a little sugar, or do not add anything.
STEP 5
After five to seven minutes, remove the baking sheet with croutons from the oven and pour melted butter over them, stir well until they are completely covered with butter. Place the pan with the croutons back in the oven for five to seven minutes; the croutons should be dry, crispy and golden brown. The times are approximate, check your oven. STEP 6
Remove the baking sheet with crackers from the oven and let them cool. Serve delicious loaf croutons made in the oven at home to the table. Bon appetit!
