The loaf does not have to be fresh; on the contrary, it will crumble more, and yesterday’s loaf will be easier to cut into even pieces.

    Cut the loaf into slices no more than 1.5 centimeters thick, each of which is cut into small cubes.

    Place the loaf cubes on a baking sheet lined with parchment. You can do without it, but it will make the housewife’s work easier; after preparing the creamy crackers, there will be no need to wash the baking sheet.

    Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Place the baking sheet with crackers in the oven. Melt the butter on the stove, in the microwave, or directly in the oven while the crackers are drying. If you want the crackers to be salty, then you can add a pinch of salt or spices to the melted butter; if they are sweet, then a little sugar, or do not add anything.

    After five to seven minutes, remove the baking sheet with croutons from the oven and pour melted butter over them, stir well until they are completely covered with butter. Place the pan with the croutons back in the oven for five to seven minutes; the croutons should be dry, crispy and golden brown. The times are approximate, check your oven. It’s very tasty to add fresh croutons to your salad. I decided to make my own croutons from a loaf in the oven. A very simple and fast way. I prepared crackers with a neutral taste without adding salt and sugar. I used a regular loaf, which I cut into cubes. I baked the bread in the oven for 5 minutes, after adding butter for another 7 minutes as described in the recipe. Unbelievable but true! DIY perfect croutons. Great recipe! Everything is very simple and fast. The crackers are delicious, creamy, crispy and just like the real thing. A wonderful addition to a salad. They are also delicious added to puree soup.
