Stewed potatoes with pork in a pan
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to stew potatoes and pork in a saucepan? Prepare all products. Rinse the pork and dry it with paper towels. Cut the meat into medium-sized pieces, about the size of a matchbox. Heat the vegetable oil in a thick-bottomed saucepan, add the meat and fry, stirring, until the pieces appear golden brown. Add just a little water (50-70 ml), reduce the heat to moderate and simmer the meat under a closed lid for 30 minutes.
STEP 2

While the meat is stewing, prepare the vegetables. Peel the onions and garlic, wash the carrots and potatoes in running water with a brush, peel them.
STEP 3

Rinse all vegetables, bay leaves and herbs under running water. Wash the bell peppers under running water, cut in half, remove the stem, core and seeds.
STEP 4

Cut the potatoes into large pieces, approximately the same size as the meat. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater, and chop the onions and peppers with feathers.
STEP 5

Wash the tomatoes in water, dry and cut into thin slices, chop the garlic as desired.
STEP 6

After 30 minutes, turn the heat under the pan to maximum. Add carrots, bell peppers and onions to the meat.
STEP 7

Next add potatoes, tomatoes, garlic and bay leaf. For taste, I always try to add cherry tomatoes, if available. They taste sweet and give the finished dish a special zest.
STEP 8

Add salt to taste and your favorite seasonings. I used suneli hops and dry seasoning for vegetables. Fill the contents of the pan with water. The amount of liquid depends on how thick you want the final dish to be. I poured 1 liter and the potatoes turned out to be a thick soup.
STEP 9

After boiling, reduce the stove to a level slightly below medium and simmer under a closed lid for about 40 minutes (depending on the type of potato). As a result, the potatoes should fall apart when pressed. Our stewed potatoes with pork meat is ready. Place it on plates and serve.
