STEP 1

How to bake a puff pastry pie with cheese? Prepare the following ingredients. You will need ready-made puff pastry. If you have it frozen, then you should first defrost it (remove it from the package, and after a few minutes separate the plates from each other and leave for 1-1.5 hours at room temperature). I use yeast-free dough; if you use yeast dough, the cooking time will increase. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees.
STEP 2

Divide the defrosted dough into two layers (I originally had two squares). Roll out one layer a little in different directions with a rolling pin. If you want the dough to be more fluffy, then do not roll it out too much (or just stretch it in different directions with your hands). Line a baking tray with baking paper and place a rolled out layer of puff pastry.
STEP 3

Grate the hard cheese on a coarse grater. Spread the grated cheese evenly onto the first sheet of dough, not reaching 1.5 - 2 cm from the edges.
STEP 4

Roll out or stretch the second sheet of dough with your hands to the same size as the first. Cover the filling with the second sheet of dough, pressing the dough together around the entire perimeter of the pie.
STEP 5

Lightly beat the egg with a fork in a separate bowl. Using a pastry brush, brush the entire pie and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Place the cheese pie in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
STEP 6

Remove the finished pie from the oven and be sure to let it cool a little to evenly distribute the moisture. Once the pie has cooled slightly, cut it into portions. This pie is perfect for breakfast or tea party!
