KUUFTE - Tefteli in Greek

A magnificent recipe for a nutritious and tasty dish! In fact, the word “kuft” has Bulgarian roots and means “meatballs”, which are made of meat minced meat mixed with spices and onions.

Pour water to the top of the pan or meatballs?

I think it's better to add water to the top of the meatballs.

Very often I make these, but without breading, and in our family they are called Hedgehogs, because in the finished meatballs the rice sticks out in different directions like needles. I also cut the onion into half rings for the gravy. Sometimes instead of tomato sauce I make creamy sauce for them.
